Salam peeps, owh wow.. we are in week 5 for our medicine rotation!! hehe seriously, unbelievable!! I am enjoying it as far as I am concern and I can see my interest is heading towards General medicine at the moment.. But still, I have not decided which specialty would I choose once I graduated.. will see how it goes.. besides, knowing myself, I know that I change my mind so easily..
After having 3 days off, it certainly made me lazy hehe.. I was fighting with myself just to wake up early this morning hehe.. I've been waking up late since Friday and I really had to drag myslef off the bed to go to hospital.. esp when my housemate was still in bed.. (I envy her coz her tute started at 3pm..) Oh well, managed to catch the bus at 630am and had brekkie at hospital.. Since I was a bit late, I didnt have brekkie at home.. so I bought in cereals with me.. Then, I had my cereal breakfast with the free milk provided by the hospital for the staff.. hehe aint I clever?? hohoho.. ssshhhhhh.. it's a secret!!
We had 12 new patients today!!! Some are quite interesting such as we had a patient with paracetamol overdose with background hx of schizophrenia.. Then, we had this patient with alcohol abuse.. A couple with chest pain... and some cellulitis cases.. for this week, I am in carged of doing a case presentation on a 88 yo male with exacerbation of sciatic nerve pain (aka back pain).. I only managed to do some history and since the patient was a lil bit confuse and bibiran.. so I decided to just come back tmrw for a better hx.. I mean there's no point getting good hx from that sort of situation.. When I went back to the ward, one of our patient died. Seriously, dealing with death situation in here was different to what I observed in Brunei.. I wont talk about it here, but yeah, I guess the culture and tradition as well as lifestyle makes it different. I also get to see how death cert was made.. kewl!! and then since I am jobless, I assisted my reg to do some blood forms and also investigations..
Later in the afternoon, we had short case session.. We met a pt with rheumatoid athritis.. it was a good opportunity to learn how to do hand exam.. hehe We left the hospital quite late and came back home safely at arnd 640pm.. It was a tiring day, but a worth it experience..
Lastly, i wanna wish all Bruneians.. Happy National day!!! I wish I had a day off to celeb8 national day tmrw hehe if only I was in Brunei.. Anyways, as some may say I am patriotic.. I am proud to be Bruneian.. I love Brunei and thank you for the hospitality, tranquility, harmony and all the services provided to the public.. I really appreciate with the government's effort in giving its people a better life.. Heart Brunei!!
