My first week of Medicine

Hey all, today is a gloomy day.. Not only the weather is gloomy but I myself am quite down.. It has been a week now since I arrived in Brisbane from my long summer holiday back in Brunei.. Homesick?? yes, of courselah homesick!! Gila kali.. mental rasanya wah d sini ah.. I still cannot manage myself and my time.. everyday is just hectic!! I miss home and I wanna go home.. But still, I have to wait till June :(

My first week of medicine is a bit tough! This year I am doing 5 different rotations starting with General Medicine, Rural, Surgery, Mental health and lastly GP. According to seniors, GM rotation is the toughest of all.. There's lots to do and it's a bit overwhelming and demanding.. Yes!! My timetable is a bit packed too this week.. I have to start at 745am everyday for ward round.. Most of the time, I enjoy ward rounds esp when meeting new patients but it's a bit tiring.. Ngalih bh jalan2 and then standing for a couple of hours lagi tu.. Overall, not bad plg for the first week.. Other than that, we have tutorials jua.. which is good plg but yeah, just have to keep up with the readings jua.. My consultant, registrar, residents and my partner atu semua ok plg.. Friendly lah dorg atu and most importantly, dorg mau mengajar and also helpful..

I managed to do my first long case last Friday.. I had a 55 year old obese man presented with skin infections on his legs..R>L.. He has a longstanding history of diabetes, chronic venous insufficiency, hypertension, dyslipidaemia and OSA. I had to do history taking and some examinations on him.. which was ok tpi not done in an efficient and professional way.. Lama sudah nda buat examination atu kan.. iatah jumble up everything lols.. Still have to revise and make sure it's all in my fingertips!!

My weekend is almost over.. Ngapakah ia.. tym weekdays atu lambat banar masa atu berlalu.. tpi masa weekend atu so fast!! Shing and Ayun masa ani buat Rural rotation so basically they're not in Brisbane.. So makin sunyilah kami dua.. Weekend ani dorg balik! yay.. so it's really goodlah to see them :) Dpat jua catch up with each other and also mengubat rasa sunyi atu.. Tpi ani balikth sudah dorg semula ke pendalaman.. Good thing c Ayun balik every weekend.. :)
